Three Bridges Open Singles December 2008

PDC player Jim Withers (pictured) won the final Three Bridges Open of 2008 on 28th December beating Sussex player Dave Creasy 3-0 in the final having beaten Ian Holman 3-0, Dave Mansell 3-2, Alan Casey 3-0, Danny King 3-1 and Martin Compton 3-1 to reach the final from an entry of 49 players. Creasy reached the final with wins against Gary Eastwood 3-1, Adam Griffiths 3-1, Anthony Morley 3-2, Stan Jackson 3-2 and Andy Derrick 3-1. Compton made the semi-finals with wins against Ben Burton 3-1, Rhonda West 3-2, Paul Russell 3-1 and Gary Newman 3-0. Derrick's wins on the way to the semi-finals were against Oliver Sopp 3-2, John Ferrell 3-1 and Alex Whiteside 3-1. The first Ladies competition attracted just four entries with Rhonda West taking the title beating Elaine Chapman 3-0 in the final. Both semi-finals went the distance with West beating Lisa Tanner 3-2 and Chapman beating Sue Bird 3-2. Alex Tinsley won the first youth competition beating Liam Caplin 3-0 in the final from an entry of eight players. On route to the final Tinsley beat Nathan Pearce 2-1 and Tom Sawyer 2-0. Caplin made the final beating Will Bolton Jnr 2-1 and Oliver Sopp 2-1. Martin Compton and Peter Sopp won the flying pairs competition that followed beating Mick Clarke and Andy King 2-0 in the final.
