Jim Withers (pictured) won the Mens Singles at the second Sussex Grand Prix event of the season
at Roffey Social & Sports Club on Sunday 17th February beating Surrey's Graham Hollis in the final
from a record breaking entry of 97 players. Losing Semi-Finalists were Dave Mansell and Paul Russell
with losing Quarter-Finalists Ben Burton, Steve Hitchens, Don Stone and Lee
Williams. Lisa Tanner won the Ladies singles from an entry of 22, beating
Sue Bird in the final. Losing Semi-Finalists were Trish Kidd and Norma Self
and losing Quarter-Finalists were Teresa Weir, Louise Gray, Marie Barthropp
and Jane Lewis. The Youth Singles had 17 entries with Oliver Sopp beating
Sam Barnard in the final. Losing Semi-Finalists were David Weir and Jake
Watts. There were 40 entries in the Mens Pairs with Graham & Paul Hollis
beating Sid Perkins & Mark Davis in the final. Losing Semi-Finalists were
Don Stone & James Packer and Paul Russell & Dave Creasey. Losing
Quarter-Finalists were Sean Brooks & Gavin Studholme, Graham Judge & Andy
Derrick, Kevin Reilly & Steve Mecrow and Craig Deeley & Michael Hammond.
Lisa Tanner completed the double by winning the Ladies Pairs with Clair
Birch with Marie Barthropp and Julie Austin runners-up. Losing
Semi-Finalists were Teresa Weir & Mandy Perry and Jane Lewis & Jane Johnson.
The Flying Pairs was won by Julie Hopkins and Steve Lovett. Runners-up were
Phil Smith & Graham Judge. Losing Semi-Finalists were Nathan Pearce & Steve
