Three Bridges Spring Open 2009 by Ian Holman
Rob Cross
Edenbridge's Rob Cross (pictured) won the Three Bridges Spring Open on Saturday 25th April at Three Bridges Football Club beating Rob Metcalfe 3-2 in the Final. Cross started the evening with a tricky Preliminary Round match against Ron Clarke but came through 3-1 despite a 135 checkout from Clarke. The biggest upset in the First Round matches saw improving youngster Owen Grantham beat Kevin Fishwick 3-2 while Cross beat Liam Caplin 3-0, Metcalfe beat Ross Mitchell 3-1 while Mal Terry had a 130 checkout as she beat Liam Watson 3-0. In the Quarter-Finals, Metcalfe beat Adam Griffiths 3-0, Owen Grantham beat Bob Abbott 3-2, Gary Simpson beat Warren Grantham 3-2 and Cross beat Mal Terry 3-0. The Semi-Finals saw Metcalfe scrape past Owen Grantham 3-2 and Cross beat Simpson 3-0. Six maximums were struck in the competition with Owen Grantham hitting his first in a competition, Cross hit two while there were one each for Kevin Reilly, Abbott and Metcalfe. Following the Spring Open was a 1001 best of one leg competition which was won by Gary Simpson. He beat Cross in a high scoring final. Full Spring Open results can be found here.

Double Ten
Roy Oxlade and Julie Harman won the May Mixed Pairs at the Labour Club on Monday 4th May beating Stuart Campbell and Tracy Jenner 2-0.
Sussex Grand Prix (April 2009) by Ian Holman
Harry MilesHarry Miles was in good form once again at the latest Sussex Grand Prix at Roffey Social & Sports Club on Sunday 19th April winning the Mens Singles, Flying Pairs and Youth Singles. Harry took the Mens Singles by beating his father Gary in the Final. Losing Semi-Finalists were Derek Furminger and Graham Hollis while losing Quarter-Finalists were Neil Clarke, Henry Keet, Adam Campbell and Paul Hepton. Harry and Gary Miles missed out on the Mens Pairs as they ended up losing Semi-Finalists along with Dave Creasey and Paul Russell with Graham Hollis and Phil Milburn beating Simon Morris and Jake Watts in the Final. Harry won the Flying Pairs with Donna Rainsley, beating Peter Sopp and Simon Morris in the Final. In the Youth Competition Harry beat Oliver Sopp in the Final. Donna Rainsley also completed a treble of wins adding the Ladies Singles and Ladies Pairs to the Flying Pairs. In the Singles she beat Sue Bird in the Final and in the Pairs she partnered Elaine Chapman as they beat Rhonda West and Sue Bird.
Easter Open 2009 by Barry Moody

The second Easter Open at the Crawley Labour Club, sponsored by the Scottish and Newcastle Breweries, proved another great success, with more than sixty entries from all over the South of England competing for prize monies in excess of £500. The Open title was won by Surrey County star Kurtis Atkins (pictured) from Epsom when he defeated Croydon's Dave Webb 3-2 in the final having trailed 2-0 to take the £160 first prize. Webb beat Worthng’s Charlie Johnstone 3-0 to reach the final, collecting the £80 runners-up prize. Atkins won his semi final by 3-2 against Dale Smith from East Preston. Losing quarter finalists were Ant Morley from Redhill, PDC player Tony Ayres (last year's winner) from Billingshurst and Crawley duo Ian Holman and Stuart Campbell. The Ladies Singles final again featured two Sussex County players and the first prize was won for the second year running by Sue Bird (Fordcombe) defeating Rhonda West (Lewes) 3-1 in the final. Losing semi-finalists were Elaine Chapman (Lewes) and Katie Whiteside (Horley). Kurtis Atkins completed a unique double when he won the Youth event beating Crawley’s Warren Grantham by 2-0 in the final. Losing semi-finalists here were Crawley’s youngsters Owen Grantham and Mark Fluck. The day’s events were concluded with the ever-popular Flying Pairs attracting 48 entries. Here the winning players were drawn again with changed partners after each round and the eventual winners were the Sussex pair Andy Derrick and Charlie Johnstone who collected £72 after defeating Rhonda West and Dayle Smith in the final. Losing semi-finalists were Sue Bird and Dave O’Neil & Oliver Sopp and Chris Clewer. The club’s raffle raised £60 for local charities. The open from the last 16 onwards can be found here.
Good Friday Singles 2009 by Ian Holman
Danny King
Danny King continued his good form after winning two of this year's Three Bridges Open's by retaining the Good Friday Singles title at Three Bridges Football Club. From a field of 65 entries King won six matches to win the competition beating Kevin Fishwick 3-2 in an entertaining final that saw the opening four legs go against the throw. King struck five maximums on the night while Fishwick hit four and Rob Cross checked out on 160 for the highest finish of the night. King's route to the final saw him beat Dave Critchley 3-0, Gary Simpson 3-0, former champion Mick Clarke 3-1, Steve Horn 3-0 and Adam Griffiths 3-0. Fishwick made his way to the final by beating Vince Nemenyi 3-2, Dave Mansell 3-2, Darren Gale 3-0, Kurtis Atkins 3-1 and Clive Pearce 3-1. Griffiths reached the semi-finals with wins against Mick Phelan 3-1, Gary Newman 3-1, Dan Grimmett 3-1 and Andy King 3-1 while Pearce got there by beating Steve Riggs 3-1, Justin Terry 3-0, son Nathan Pearce 3-1 and Neil Smith 3-2. A total of 17 maximums were recorded with two each from Gary Simpson and Neil Smith and one apiece from Derek Furminger, Steve Horn, Andy King and Rob Metcalfe. Further high checkouts came from Clive Pearce 147, Kurtis Atkins 146, Neil Smith 120, Gary Simpson 110 and Kevin Fishwick 106.Earlier in the day Stan Jackson and Alan Colgate beat Kevin Fishwick and Mark Fluck 3-2 in the Flying Pairs final and Neil Smith, Kevin Fishwick and Nigel Martyn beat Derek Furminger, Owen Grantham and Matt Wenham 2-1 in the Flying Trebles final. Darren Gale won the 1001 challenge with a 36 dart leg. Fishwick struck a 170 finish in the Flying Trebles competition. Full results from the singles can be found here.
Three Bridges Open (April 2009) by Ian Holman
Danny King
Danny King (pictured) matched Andy Derrick's four Three Bridges Open wins by beating him in the April Final 3-0 and collect the £100 winning prize after the lowest turnout yet of just 24 players. Despite the poor turnout there was some great darts on show with 14 maximums from 23 matches played and also a 170 checkout from Thurrock's Harry Miles. On his way to his beating Derrick for his second title of the year King beat his brother Tim 3-0, Andy MacIntosh 3-2, Harry Miles 3-2 and Kez Botting 3-1. Derrick made the final with wins against Anthony Morley 3-0, Liam Caplin 3-1 and Gary Miles 3-2. Botting 's route to the semi-finals saw him beat Rob Cross 3-0, Kevin Reilly 3-1 and Gary Simpson 3-2. Gary Miles made the other semi with wins against Gary Newman 3-2 and Tony Denman 3-0. Kez Botting, Liam Caplin, Danny King and Andy MacIntosh all had two maximums each with Rob Cross, Andy Derrick, Gary Miles, Roger Milne, Gary Newman and Gary Simpson hitting one each. Newman had a 120 checkout and Caplin a 108. Kieron Sullivan had a 130 checkout in the youth competition that attracted just six entries with Caplin carrying over his good form from the open competition by hitting another maximum and a 107 finish although he missed out on a second straight title as he ended up on the wrong side of a 3-2 result against Matthew Ansley in a repeat of the previous months final. UK Open Pub Qualifier by Ian Holman

Tony Denman from Redhill won the Blue Square UK Open Holsten Qualifier at The Half Moon in Southgate, Crawley, beating Steve Mecrow 3-0 in the final to book his place in the Southern Regional Finals to be held over the weekend of 25th and 26th April. Other players that have made their way through at other venues hosting Holsten Pub Qualifiers include Lee Gladman, Mark Harwood, Rob Metcalfe and Gary Trodd. Eight qualifiers from the regional competition will go forward to the Finals at the Reebok Stadium in Bolton in June.
Three Bridges Open (March 2009) by Ian Holman
Andy Derrick
Andy Derrick won his fourth Three Bridges Open title at Three Bridges Football Club on Sunday 13th March from a disappointing turnout of just 31 payers. Derrick was in fine form in the final finishing in 16, 18 and 17 legs (88.41 avr) against Greg White. Derrick made the Quarter-Finals without dropping a leg, with wins against Anthony Oak and Andy Baller. In the board final he met Tony Denman who made it there with a 3-2 win against Mick Clarke having received a bye in the opening round. Derrick beat Denman 3-2 in a closely fought match that included a 141 checkout for Denman. Derrick then beat Dave Fry 3-2 in the Semi-Finals in another close match. Fry beat Ian Holman 3-2 in the First Round despite a 156 checkout from his opponent, he then beat Pelham Buckle player Gary Simpson 3-2 and Roger Milne 3-2 in his board final. In the other Semi-Final White was in good form as he beat Graham Judge 3-1. White came through his board with wins against Simon Langridge 3-0, Dave Mansell 3-2 and John Lee 3-2. Judge won his board with wins against Brandon O'Neill 3-1, Derek Furminger 3-2 and Alex Whiteside 3-1. 180s were hit by Derrick, Judge, Rhonda West and Whiteside. Just six players entered the Youth competition with Liam Caplin beating Matt Ansley 3-2 in the final having beaten Jordan Hillier 2-0 in the Semi-Finals. In the other Semi, Ansley beat Kieron Sullivan 2-0. Judge hit another 180 on his way to winning the Flying Pairs with Charlie Lee. They beat Clarke and Simpson 2-1 in the Final. Three Bridges Open (February 2009) by Ian Holman
Danny KingDanny King (pictured) won the Three Bridges Open on Sunday 15th February to match last month's winner Andy Derrick by taking a third title. King started off with a 3-0 win against John Neil, he then beat Darren Hagon 3-0 and Andy Relf 3-1 to win board 2. In the semi-finals King beat board 1 winner Duncan McCotter 3-1. McCotter won his board with wins against Tony Denman 3-2, Kerry Jobson 3-1, Anthony Morley 3-1 and Gary Simpson 3-0. King beat board 3 winner Danny Wright 3-1 in the final. Wright came through a tough board that featured PDC players Ben Burton, Adrian Gray, Tony Ayres, Steve Smith and Andy Mason as well as recent Sussex Grand Prix winner Harry Miles. In the first round Wright beat Mark Fluck 3-0 as Smith beat Gray 3-1 in the match of the round. Wright then beat Derek Furminger 3-1 as Smith ended Ayres hopes with a 3-2 win. Wright beat Burton in the board semi-final as Smith edged out Miles 3-2. Wright then went on to beat Smith 3-2 in the board final and board 4 winner Alan Colgate 3-0 in the semi-finals. Colgate came through his board with wins against Jason Terry (Reigate) 3-2, Chris Levett 3-2, former winner Gary Miles 3-1 and Gary Trodd 3-2. There was no Ladies competition this month due to the County matches being played but 19 youths turned out for their competition with Lewis Venes beating Liam Caplin 3-0 in the final. Venes made his way to the final with wins against Adam McCarthy 2-0, Tom Newble 2-0 and Matt Wenham 2-1. Caplin beat Liam Saxon 2-1, Connor Levett 2-1 and Matthew Ansley 2-0. Valentines Open 2009 by Ian Holman
Mick ClarkeMick Clarke (pictured) beat the 1992 World Professional Darts runner-up Mike Gregory on his way to winning the first Valentines Open held at Three Bridges Football Club on Saturday 14th February. Further details will follow soon. Gregory along with team-mate Steve Hillier competed in the competition as they were in the area for Somerset's county match against Sussex. Clarke knocked out the 52 year old at the Quarter-Finals stage 3-2 having already beaten Kevin Reilly 3-1 and Stuart Campbell 3-0. Clarke went on to beat Alex Whiteside 3-1 in the Semi-Finals and Rob Metcalfe 3-2 in the Final to collect the £51 winners prize money. Metcalfe made the Final with wins against Derek Furminger 3-2, Owen Grantham 3-1 and Ian Holman 3-1. Clarke and Metcalfe met again in the Final of the Flying Pairs Final with Metcalfe and Adam Griffiths beating Clarke and Margaret White. Full singles results are here.
Sussex Grand Prix (February 2009) by Barry Moody
DartboardSurrey players were in form at the third of this season’s “HOLSTEN” Grand Prix playoffs at the Roffey Club. The much travelled PDC player Ben Burton, making his first appearance this series, took the Mens’ Singles event with it’s £200 prize. Surrey youth stars Kurtis Atkins and Ryan Hitchens both picked up cash and points in the Pairs and Youth events. Ryan started the day well, beating PDC star Tony Ayres 3-1 in the Prelims then going on to partner Kurtis to reach the Final of the Mens’ Pairs where they lost 3-2 to Essex pairing Gary and Harry Miles. Kurtis got his revenge against Harry in the Youth Singles, defeating the previous winner 2-1 in the Quarter-Finals and going on to win the event. Sussex players were again successful in the two Ladies events, Donna Rainsley winning the Singles for the third time this season to stay top of the table by 14 points and the County duo, Rhonda West and Sue Bird taking the Pairs event to remain in second and third place. Ben Burton stormed through a star studded field of 85 entries to take the cash and the points in the Men’s Singles, beating Jim Withers, Graham Hollis, Simon Morris and Dave Webb to reach the semi-finals. Here he defeated Sidley’s Ian Bingham and then faced up to Sussex star Andy Derrick in the final. Andy’s progress to the final stage was at the expense of Tony Peters, Chris Clewer, Nigel Panton, Anthony Hopkins and semi-finalist James Stephenson. The final proved a tense affair with Andy coming back from 2-0 down to level the score thanks to a maximum and a fifteen dart leg. Ben then took the final leg with double ten after missing a 160 checkout. Donna Rainsley was again in fine form in the Ladies Singles facing tough opposition from the Surrey ladies contingent. She defeated Jane Johnson and Louise Gray to get to the final then beat County star Lauren Hitchens 3-1 to collect the £40 prize and stay top of the table with maximum points from her three outings. Sue Bird was the other losing semi-finalist. The Men’s Pairs saw Essex pair Gary and Harry Miles strengthening their top places in the Grand Prix table when they defeated the Surrey Youth duo Ryan Hitchens and Kurtis Atkins 3-2 in an exciting final. Losing semi-finalist were previous winners from Surrey Darren Gale /Henry Keet and Brighton’s Mark Davis/Ian Perkins. With only ten entries in the Ladies Pairs event the prize money was limited to £50 and Sussex County players Rhonda West and Sue Bird picked up £30 of this after defeating Surrey pair Angela Frewin and Gill Shepherd 3-1 in the final. Eastbourne’s PDC star Jim Withers  broke his duck in this series when he partnered Henry Keet to win the Flying Pairs competition.  They defeated the Sussex duo of Andy Derrick and Nathan Pearce by 2-1 in the final to share the £90 cash and the eighty points. The losing semi-finalists were Rob Metcalfe/Paul Russell and Gary Miles/Ben Burton. Kurtis Atkins completed a good day for the Surrey players when he won the Youth event. Kurtis lost in the final in the previous Grand Prix but he made no mistake this time, beating Horsham’s Ant Caswell 2-0 to go second in the table just fifteen points behind leader Harry Miles. Roffey Social and Sports Club and the Sussex County Super League organisers were delighted with another bumper attendance of more than 110 players and the cash payout on the day exceeding £900.
Three Bridges Open (January 2009) by Ian Holman
Andy DerrickSussex player Andy Derrick (pictured) won his third Three Bridges Open title on Sunday 25th January, beating Billingshurst's PDC player Tony Ayres 3-1 in the Final culminating with a 14 dart final leg. From 51 entries all Semi-Finalist were previous winners, with Derrick beating Danny King 3-1 and Ayres beating Jim Withers 3-2. Derrick won his board with wins against Anthony Morley 3-2, Dave Creasey 3-1 and Mark Davis 3-0. Ayres won his board with wins against Dan Gardner 3-0, Alex Whiteside 3-1, Duncan McCotter 3-1 and Tony Denman 3-0. Withers won his board with wins against Tony Peters 3-0, Anthony Harding 3-0, Alan Colgate 3-2 and Steve Mecrow 3-0. King won his board with wins against Chris Clewer 3-0, Andy King 3-0 and Seejay Jeffs 3-0. A total of eight maximums were recorded with Ayres and Derrick hitting two and there was one each for Steve Mecrow, Anthony Morley, Paul Russell and Jason Terry (Reigate). Duncan McCotter had the highest recorded checkout of 128, Morley had a 122 checkout, Jeffs 118 and Ayres 100. There was just five entries in the Ladies singles with Rhonda West and Elaine Chapman both making the Final for the second month running. West won again but this time the end result was 3-2. Losing Semi-Finalists were Sue Bird and Lisa Tanner. There were ten entries in the Youth Singles with Horley's Ryan Lawrence taking the title with wins against Leon Watson 2-0, Matthew Woodward 2-0, Liam Caplin 2-0 and Matthew Ansley 3-2 in the Final. Ansley made the Final with wins against Josh Mason 2-0, Tommy Sykes 2-0 and Jack Kent 2-1. Sue Bird and Dave Creasey won the Flying Pairs beating Mick Sykes and Tony Ayres 2-0 in the Final. Sussex Grand Prix (January 2009) by Ian Holman
Harry Miles
Just three days before his 18th birthday Thurrock's Harry Miles (pictured) completed a remarkable Sussex Grand Prix treble at Roffey Social & Sports Club on Sunday 11th January by winning the Mens Singles, Flying Pairs and Youth Singles. In the Mens Singles he beat Phil Milburn in the Semi-Finals before going on to beat Simon Morris in the Final. In the other Semi-Final, Morris beat Matt Wenham. The losing Quarter-Finalists were Dave Creasey, Ryan Hitchens, Graham Hollis and Paul Russell. In the Mens Pairs, Darren Gale and Henry Keet Jnr beat Hollis and Milburn in the Final with Gary and Harry Miles & Danny King and Richard McLaughlin the losing Semi-Finalists. In the Ladies Singles, Donna Rainsley beat Angela Frewin in the Final. Losing Semi-Finalists were Lisa Tanner and Sue Bird. In the Ladies Pairs, Norma Self and Lisa Tanner beat Julie Hopkins and Lauren Hitchens in the Final. Miles won the Flying Pairs with Martin Byrne. They beat Steve Hitchens and Charlie Johnstone in the Final. Miles beat Kurtis Atkins in the Youth Final while Paul Richardson and Oliver Sopp were losing Semi-Finalists.
Greensides Open (January 2009) by Ian Holman
John FerrellJohn Ferrell (pictured) was the winner of the latest Greensides Open competition in Wandsworth on Sunday 4th January, beating Richie Buckell (London) 5-3 in the final, having beaten Shane Edwards in the Semi-Finals. In the other Semi Buckell beat John Nelson. From the 61 entries seven players from the Crawley and Horsham area competed with Danny King reaching the Third Round with wins against Andy Sams 3-1, Richard McQue 3-1 before losing out 3-0 against Nelson. Ian Holman and Andy King both lost out in the Second Round, Holman beat Chris Hogg 3-2 before losing out to Steve Mead 3-0 while Andy King beat Martin Weavers 3-0 before a 3-1 loss against Johnny Stefano saw his hopes dashed. Ant Caswell, Kevin Downes, Stan Jackson and Gary Kennard all lost in the First Round. Caswell lost 3-1 to London county player Ian McNeil, Downes lost 3-0 to Jason Cox, Jackson lost 3-1 to McQue and Kennard lost 3-0 to Dave Deruyter. The top of the opening round saw Alan Casey checkout on 170 as he beat Lionel Sams 3-2. Casey eventually lost out to Gary Eastwood.  Both Holman and Danny King struck 180s with Holman missing double 18 for a 156 checkout in his opening round tie.
PDC Competitions
Players Championship - Coventry by Ian Holman
Tony AyresTony Ayres (pictured) had his best win since joining the PDC circuit last year as he beat world number two James Wade 6-4 in the Second Round of the Players Championship event at The Ricoh Arena in Coventry on Saturday 28th March. Jim Withers also had his best PDC win as he beat World Championship Quarter-Finalist Paul Nicholson 6-5 in the same round. Ayres started the day with a 6-3 First Round win against Chris Loudon but following his win against Wade was then beaten by Matt Clark 6-4 in the Third Round. Withers failed to drop a leg before his match against Nicholson, beating Andy Downes 6-0 in the Preliminary Round and Alan Caves 6-0 in the First Round. Withers also exited at the Third Round stage against eventual winner Mark Walsh 6-2. Ian 'Sid' Perkins lost out in the Preliminary Round when he was defeated 6-1 by Hampshire youngster Arron Monk. Also going out at this stage were Dave Ansell and Adrian Gray. Ansell lost 6-0 against former Lakeside champion Richie Burnett and Gray was defeated 6-4 by Nigel Birch.  Redhill's Dave Askew lost 6-2 in the First Round against Jelle Klaasen and Andy Mason lost 6-1 against Dave Honey. Essex youngster Alex Tinsley, who won last June's Three Bridges Open enjoyed his first wins on the PDC circuit by beating Norman Fletcher 6-5 and Mark Jodrill 6-1 before he lost out 6-2 against Wayne Mardle. Another former Lakeside World Champion, Andy Fordham lost his first PDC match, 6-4 against Gary Scratchley in the Preliminary Round. Mervyn King produced a nine dart finish in his winning leg from a 6-0 win against Stuart Bousfield. King eventually lost to Phil Taylor 6-2 in the Quarter-Finals. After beating Jan van der Rassel 6-0 in the Semi-Finals Taylor missed out on another title when he was beaten for the first time in a floor tournament this year against Walsh 6-4 in the Final.   
Stan James.com Players Championship - Gibraltar 2009 by Ian Holman
Ian 'Sid' PerkinsTony Ayres lost 6-5 against Roland Scholten in the Preliminary Round of the Stan James.com Players Championship in Gibraltar on Sunday 18th January as world champion Phil Taylor completed a Gibraltar double, beating Mark Dudbridge 6-1 in the Final. Adrian Gray lost out in the Second Round, 6-2 against Peter Manley after 6-3 wins against Dyson Parody and Andrew Davies. Jim Withers beat Shane Cox 6-4 in his Preliminary Round tie before going out by the same score against Alex Roy in the First Round. Ian Perkins (pictured) beat David Farras 6-2 in the Preliminary Round and then lost 6-3 against Kevin Painter in the First Round.
Eddie Cox Memorial Championship by Ian Holman
Jim WithersJim Withers (pictured) beat world number 13 Ronnie Baxter 6-5 in the First Round of the Eddie Cox Memorial Players Championship in Gibraltar on Saturday 17th January having beaten Francisco Cruz 6-3 in the Preliminary Round. Withers was one of four players from Sussex to take part in the competition and lost out to in form Mark Dudbridge 6-1 in the Second Round. Tony Ayres and Ian Perkins both lost in the Preliminary Round. Ayres lost 6-1 against Darren Johnson and Perkins lost 6-0 against Michael van Gerwen. Adrian Gray lost 6-5 in the First Round against Julio Barbero Gonzalez. Mark Walsh hit his first competitive nine dart leg and Phil Taylor won the Final 6-2 against Alan Tabern.
Blue Square UK Open North-East Regional Finals by Ian Holman
Tony AyresThe first Blue Square UK Regional Finals took place at the Doncaster Dome on Sunday 11th January with Tony Ayres (pictured) making his way to the Second Round with a Preliminary Round win against Darren Whittingham 6-1 and a First Round win against Dennis Smith 6-5. Ayres' fought back from 4-1 down against Matt Clark to draw level at 5-5 but lost out in the last leg decider. Ian Perkins won his Preliminary Round tie against Matt Gallett 6-3 but then lost out to Mark Lawrence 6-2 in the First Round. Other Sussex hopes all lost out in the First Round. Andy Mason lost 6-1 against Clark, Dave Mansell lost by the same score against Dennis Ovens, Jim Withers lost 6-4 against Colin Lloyd and Adrian Gray lost 6-1 against Par Rihonen. Colin Lloyd beat Colin Osborne 6-1 in the Final.
Bobby Bourn Memorial Players Championship by Ian Holman
Dave MansellThe new year on the PDC circuit started at The Dome in Doncaster on Saturday 10th January with the Bobby Bourn Memorial Players Championship. Six players from Sussex took part with only Adrian Gray making the Second Round after a 6-0 win against Andy Mason. Ian Perkins and Dave Mansell (pictured) both won Preliminary Round ties with Perkins beating Mark Tiller 6-3 before going down 6-0 against Steve Beaton. Mansell beat John Jenkinson 6-5 but then lost out to Paul Knighton 6-2. Tony Ayres lost 6-5 in the First Round against Aaron Monk 6-5 and Jim Withers lost in the same round 6-4 against American David Fatum. Terry Jenkins went on to beat Mark Dudbridge 6-3 in the Final.
