Week 15 Round-up (Friday 5th September 2008) by Ian Holman
Kirk Gray
Second and third placed sides, Team Mason and Charcoal Burner both picked up comfortable wins again this week as leaders Greyhound had a bye. Team Mason won 7-1 at Railway Club and Charcoal Burner won 8-0 at Bridges. The game of the night was between fourth placed RS Bumbles and Labour C with the Labour side needing maximum points to keep their play-off chances alive. Unfortunately for them it wasn't to be as RS Bumbles took a 5-2 lead going into the team game. Bumbles looked like they were going to take the final game of the night but missed doubles let in young Labour star Kirk Gray (pictured) who finished on 85 (15, 20, bull) to claim the bonus point. Royal Oak had a walkover against Railway B as did Con Mates against Buckles A. Longley C made up for last week's defeat by beating Downsman 8-0 and Pelhams took the team game in a 4-4 draw with BBC.

Stan Jackson also hit a 180 at Pelhams for Team Mason and Lee Gladman hit his sixth maximum of the campaign and also checked out on 120 for the Charcoal Burner in their win against Longley C. Further 180s were hit by RS Bumbles players Rob Cross and Darren Gale as they beat Legion Lancers. Labour C's win came against Railway B and Royal Oak had a walkover against Buckles A. Week 12 Round-up (Friday 15th August 2008) by Dave Miles and Ian Holman
Justin TerryThere was plenty of high scoring during this week's games with the Terry family in top form, Jason and Mal hit 180s for Bridges and Justin (pictured) got one for the Royal Oak. Jason and Justin's were both struck in 11 dart legs of 401. Greyhound's Pete Crossley also matched this feat. Also hitting maximums were Railway Club's Mal Richardson, Burners' Lee Gladman (his fifth of the season), team mate Graham Brook, Gary Kennard for the Greyhound and Graham martin for Longley C. Greyhound's Andy Alderton struck a 116 outshot, Team Mason's Nigel Panton had a 118 finish and Charcoal Burner pair Lee G;adman had a 106 and Adam Campbell a 100. Leaders Greyhound increased their lead over Team Mason to four points after beating Pelhams 8-0, as Team Mason surprisingly dropped the 1001 bonus point during their 6-2 win over Longley C, the Charcoal Burner kept up the pressure on the top two, winning 8-0 against the Con Mates, Royal Oak lie just outside the play-off positions, after winning 8-0 at the Downsman, with the RS Bumbles just keeping them out after they won 6-2 against the Buckles. Bridges put their recent run of defeats behind them, as they comfortably beat the Railway Club 6-2, while Labour C continue to press for a play-off place with a 8-0 demolition of Legion Lancers.
Week 11 Round-up (Friday 8th August 2008) by Dave Miles
Andy BallerReigning Champions, the Greyhound, and current leaders of this years competition, still hold a three point lead over Team Mason following a 7-1 win over Longley C, for whom Andy Baller (pictured) struck his third maximum of the campaign, while Team Mason defeated the Con Mates 6-2, helped by 180s from Andy Mason & Nigel Panton. The Charcoal Burner had a bye, and are now four points adrift in third place, but do have a game in hand of the top two. The battle for the final play-off place is still too close to call, with no fewer than three sides still in contention, with RS Bumbles currently in fourth after their 7-1 defeat of the Downsman, leaving the Royal Oak 8-0 victors over BBC, and Labour C 5-3 winners over the Buckles hot on their heels. Three 180's were hit during the Red's win over Buckles at the Labour Club, Kirk Gray for the victors hit his second, while Buckles Ian Knight  and Alan Hulme posted their first and third of the season respectably. Railway B's Chris Twiner struck the magical 180 to help his side to a 5-3 win over Legion Lancers, a win that moves the Three Bridges side out of the bottom three for the first time. Down at the Pelham Buckle, the Pelhams and the Railway Club played out a 4-4 draw, with the visitors grabbing the bonus team point.
Week 10 Round-up (Friday 1st August 2008) by Ian Holman
Kirk GrayGreyhound collected all three points with a 7-1 win against Con Mates this week to move back to the top of the league as last weeks leaders Team Mason were without a game. Third placed Charcoal Burner missed out on a chance to go second as they were beaten at home by the Royal Oak. Adam Campbell struck the night's best checkout of 120 in this match for the Burner and Dave Fry hit a maximum but the Oak came away with a 5-3 win despite losing the 1001 team game. After three successive defeats, RS Bumbles got themselves back to winning ways with an 8-0 win against BBC. Labour C moved up to fifth with a 7-1 win at the Downsman with Kirk Gray (pictured) and Paul Harding both hitting maximums for the victors. Despite having a tough line-up over the next few weeks Longley C are still in with a chance of claiming a play-off place after their 7-1 win at the Railway Club. John McDonnell grabbed a consolation 180 in this match for the hosts. Pelhams picked up their best win of the season as they went home with all three points from a 5-3 victory against former leaders Bridges. In the other match Buckles A beat Railway B 6-2 but missed out on all the points by losing the 1001 team game.
Week 9 Round-up (Friday 25th July 2008) by Dave Miles and Ian Holman
Stan JacksonThe top three teams in the league look certainties now for the play-offs as a gap of seven points has opened up after the Royal Oak and RS Bumbles failed to record wins. Royal Oak lead Team Mason 3-0 and 4-2 but only managed a draw against the new leaders with Team Mason winning the 1001 team game. Andy Mason and Stan Jackson (pictured) struck maximums for Team Mason, while team mate Ron Clarke hit a 125 checkout (bull, 25, bull). The Charcoal Burner moved to within two points of the top two inflicting RS Bumbles third straight 6-2 defeat with Lee Gladman in top form striking his fourth 180 of the campaign. Labour C ran out 5-3 winners against BBC, Longley C beat Bridges 5-3 but failed to win the team game, Con Mates picked up two points by winning the team game in a 4-4 draw against Railway Club, Railway B took their first points with a 5-3 win against Downsman and Buckles A beat Legion Lancers 7-1 despite losing the team game.
Week 8 Round-up (Friday 18th July 2008) by Dave Miles and Ian Holman
Lee Gladman
Labour C player Dave Phipot stole the limelight by hitting a brace of 180s as his side were beaten 7-1 at third placed Charcoal Burner. Lee Gladman (pictured) struck his third maximum of the season for the hosts. League leaders Greyhound playing out of the Rugby Club, won the clash between the two remaining unbeaten sides, helped by Kez Botting's second maximum of the season they comprehensively beat the Royal Oak 7-1, leaving the Ifield side just outside the play-off zone in fifth. Team Mason's Martin Burchell posted a 180 during his sides 6-2 win over the RS Bumbles, thus inflicting the second successive 6-2 defeat on the Bee's. Bridges beat Con Mates 7-1, and Longley C had a fine win at the Pelham Buckle, beating Pelhams by the same score with Andy Baller in top form, hitting a maximum.. Also winning were BBC. They beat Railway B 6-2. Finally after eight matches the Legion Lancers registered their first point of the season to move off bottom place, the problem was, they still lost, going down 5-3 at the Downsman, but winning the vital 1001 team game earned them their point.
Week 7 Round-up (Friday 11th July 2008) by Dave Miles and Ian Holman
Gary KennardTwo of the three remaining unbeaten sides clashed at Three Bridges FC this week, when the leaders Greyhound took on third placed RS Bumbles in an high scoring game. Paul Burrows hit a 180 for the bees, but superior finishing from the Champions saw them ease home 6-2, with Gary Kennard (pictured) in top form just missing a 164 finish, and then striking a 127 finish next leg for the Greyhound. Hot on the heels of the Greyhound are Team Mason, they lie two points adrift, and helped by Tony Ayres's fourth maximum of the season, and Stan Jackson's 115 checkout, cruised past Labour C 7-1, for whom Larry Kavanah notched a maximum. Lee Gladman also hit a 180 as the Charcoal Burner won 8-0 against Railway B, a win that moves the Furnace Green side up into third place just ahead of RS Bumbles. Royal Oak, along with the Greyhound still remain undefeated after the Ifield's sides 6-2 win over the Railway Club, and next week both sides clash at the Rugby Club, Ian Holman struck a maximum for the Oak, but his side did lose the 1001 team game, which could prove costly at the end of the league stage, as only the top four teams go through to the play-offs. Pelhams beat the Con Mates 6-2 to move into double figures, and fellow stable mates the Buckles also grabbed a win, they whitewashed the Downsman 8-0. BBC's game with Legion Lancers was cancelled, with all three points awarded to BBC.
Week 6 Round-up (Friday 4th July 2008) by Dave Miles and Ian Holman
Mick ClarkeTwo more teams gained their first points of the season this week, while the top four teams in the qualifying play-off places are the usual suspects. Reigning Champions the Greyhound head the table, but had to come from 3-1 down to clinch all three points available in their 5-3 win over the previously unbeaten Labour C, high scoring was the order of the night, as firstly the Reds Tommy Walker blasted a great 149 finish, the seasons best, that was followed by Greyhound's Mick Clarke (pictured) and Pete Crossley checking out on 111 & 100 respectably, and Kez Botting's maximum in the 1001 team game helped clinch the Greyhounds victory. Team Mason are still second after posting another 8-0 win, this despite their PDC four being in Las Vegas. With strength in depth they were still too powerful for Railway B who are still searching for their first points. RS Bumbles are third following a 7-1 victory over the Railway Club, two 180's were hit in the match, one for the Bees Darren Gale, and a consolation one for Railways up and coming star Dan Bradford. Making up the top four are the Charcoal Burner, helped by maximums from Lee Gladman & Richard Stanford and a 137 finish from Dave Fry, they comfortably beat Legion Lancers 8-0, while the unbeaten Royal Oak with games in hand can break into the top four, after they made it four successive wins by beating Bridges 5-3, with Andy Gurr's 180 for the Oak, and Bridges Jason Terry's 100 checkout being the highlights. Buckles picked up their first points, and first win when defeating BBC 6-2 despite a 180 for BBC from Sussex Youth player Mark Fluck, and the Con Mates earned their first point by winning the 1001 team game against Longley C, but alas couldn't win the match, finally going down 6-2, Longley's John Usher was on form, striking a maximum in celebration.
Week 5 Round-up (Friday 27th June 2008) by Dave Miles and Ian Holman
Ty CowardThis weeks games saw just the two 180s, both struck by PDC star Tony Ayres, taking his tally to three for the season as Team Mason whitewashed Legion Lancers, whose's victory propells them up into second place in the league table, two points adrift of the Greyhound who also posted an 8-0 win, beating Railway B. RS Bumbles move inside the top four, also winning 8-0 against early front runners Bridges, the Bees Tony Denman is their in form player with a 106 checkout, another 8-0 victory came for the Royal Oak over Pelhams. While there were plenty of high checkouts hit down at the Charcoal Burner during the hosts 7-1 defeat of Buckles, Ty Coward (pictured) equalled the top finish with 116 for the Burner, while teammates Lee Gladman 111 and Graham Brook 101, along with Buckles Steve Horne 107 added to a high scoring game, but it still leaves the Buckles looking for their first points of the season, while the Burner are still mid table. At the Downsman the hosts could only draw 4-4 with BBC, and then proceeded to lose the team game, thus giving the visitors an extra bonus point. Labour C and the Railway Club also played out a 4-4 draw, with the Railway side picking up the bonus point.
Week 4 Round-up (Friday 20th June 2008) by Dave Miles and Ian Holman
Martin BurchellMetrobus have withdrawn from the Crawley Summer League and all the games they have played have been made void. We have new leaders at the top of the league as last week's table toppers Bridges crashed to a 5-3 defeat by Labour C, with the Reds taking all three points available, Bridges defeat drops them down to third in the table, Mal Terry recorded a 180, & Jason Terry a 115 finish for Bridges, but all to no avail. Greyhound have replaced Bridges 8-0 after whitewashing lowly Legion Lancers 8-0 with young star Warren Grantham striking his second maximum of the campaign in celebration. Team Mason, packed with PDC players cruised to an a 8-0 victory over the winless Buckles A without dropping a leg, Martin Burchell (pictured) was the star with a 112 checkout. The win takes Team Mason into the top four. At the Railway Club, A played B, with the A's running out 5-3 winners, to leave them in fifth position just ahead of RS Bumbles who posted a 7-1 win over the Pelhams for whom Graham Neale & Steven Masters posted maximums. The Royal Oak dropped the 1001 team game to opponents Longley C, but eventually won through 5-3. The Match between the Charcoal Burner and Downsman was awarded 8-0 to the Burner as their opponents failed to field a team.
Week 3 Round-up (Friday 13th June 2008) by Dave Miles
Andy GurrRS Bumbles star Tony Denman, was player of the week, after banging in two maximums and checking out a 105 finish, to help the Bees to a 7-1 victory over Longley's, team mate Rob Cross also got in on the act, hitting a 180, and posting a 112 checkout of his own, the Bees didn't have it all their own way though, as Longley's took the 1001 team game. Paul Chesworth struck a 180 for Bridges during their 7-1 win over Railway B, a victory that leaves Bridges top of the table with maximum points after 3 games. Reigning Champions the Greyhound are hot on their heels following their 7-1 win over Buckles, while Labour C beat Pelhams 6-2, but lost the 1001 game. The Royal Oak have two wins from two starts after trouncing the Con Mates 7-1, their win was helped by a maximum from Andy Gurr (pictured), and Kevin Reilly's 116 checkout. Both Team Mason & the Charcoal Burner completed 8-0 whitewashes, Team Mason beat the Downsman, while the Burner disposed of BBC, and in the final match, Legion Lancers crashed 7-1 to the Railway Club.
Week 2 Round-up (Friday 6th June 2008) by Dave Miles
Warren GranthamAfter the opening two rounds of fixtures, three teams still have the maximum six points. Bridges received an 8-0 walkover as opponents Legion Lancers couldn't field a team, RS Bumbles posted an 8-0 victory, overcoming the Con Mates, and Pelhams beat a depleted Railway B 6-2.  Warren Grantham (pictured) struck the weeks only 180 for the reigning Champions the Greyhound, but surprisingly they lost the 1001 team game to the Downsman, but did finish up winning 7-1. Also winning but dropping the team game were Labour C, they beat Longley C 5-3, while after last weeks bye, the Royal Oak started their campaign with a resounding 7-1 victory over Metrobus, helped by 111 & 100 checkouts from Andy Gurr & Mick Curren respectably. The Railway Club made up for their B sides defeat, by beating Buckles A 5-3, leaving the Buckles pointless after two games. The match between BBC & Team Mason was postponed.
Week 1 Round-up (Friday 30th May 2008) by Dave Miles
Richard StanfordThree whitewashes were posted, including one from the reigning Summer League Champions, Greyhound who made a great start to their defence of the title by beating new team BBC. Also winning 8-0 were Labour C and Longley C, they overpowered the Con Mates and another new side Railway B respectively. The Downsman dropped one game to the Railway Club, winning 7-1, while Team Mason, featuring PDC players Danny King, Martin Burchell, Tony Ayres and Andy Mason proved too good for the Charcoal Burner when winning 6-2. Other 6-2 winners were RS Bumbles over Metrobus, Bridges against Buckles and new side Pelhams over Legion Lancers. The Royal Oak started the season with a bye.
Over the night, four maximums were recorded. Buckles' A, Alan Hulme was the star of the week hitting a brace, while Tony Ayres and Richard Stanford (pictured) (Charcoal Burner) both grabbed one apiece. Metrobus's Dave Harris struck the weeks highest finish with a modest 100.
The league table above has been produced as per Rule 8: The team with the most pts at the end of the League, will be deemed top, if a tie the better 1001 victories would prevail, there after the most match wins, then head to head results, then if still equal, most 180s would determine the positions.
